Grief & Loss

Have you had a significant loss recently? Are you having difficulty processing the loss? While loss is a part of life, experiencing and managing the effects of loss can be overwhelming, scary, and life-changing. The death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, the loss of a job, or even the loss of a pet can cause significant grief that can leave one feeling unable to cope or move forward in life. Facing such losses can result in feelings of loneliness, isolation, depression, or an inability to enjoy what used to be pleasurable. In a search for relief and comfort, people can often turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms to escape the pain and numb the hurt, which can compound the complexity of the grieving process. Therapy can provide a safe and caring atmosphere where losses can be processed in a sensitive way that enables one to navigate through the grief in a way that allows for healing and restoration. Grieving is a process, and you don't have to go through it alone. Having experienced loss in my own life, I know the value of talking with a caring and compassionate professional in times of grief. If you or someone you know is experiencing grief and loss, reaching out for help is a positive first step. If you would like to take that step, please call me at 619-507-2936.
